Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MINIX Switzerland / Varga Collective processes personal data when you visit minixswitzerland.com, place an order, contact us, use a customer account or sign up for our emails.

2. Data we process

Depending on how you use the shop, we process contact details (name, address, email, phone number); order and payment details; messages and photos you send us; customer account details; email subscription status and how you interact with our emails; and technical data such as IP address, device and browser information, cookie identifiers and which pages and products you view.

3. Purposes and legal basis

We use personal data to run the shop, process and deliver orders, handle payments, refunds, returns and complaints, provide customer service, manage customer accounts, send order emails, send marketing emails where permitted, measure and improve our advertising, keep the shop secure and prevent fraud, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We process data to fulfil our contract with you, to comply with the law, on the basis of our legitimate interests, or with your consent where this is required.

4. Shopify

Our shop runs on Shopify, which provides hosting, checkout, customer accounts and order management. Shopify processes personal data on our behalf and, for some features, under its own responsibility as described in its privacy policy. Shopify may process data in Canada, the USA, the EU and other countries.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment provider you choose at checkout. They receive the data needed to process your payment. We never see or store your full card number or security code.

6. Shipping

We pass your name, delivery address and the shipment details to Swiss Post so your order can be delivered. We use the Shopify app Swiss Post Labels to prepare shipments.

7. Email marketing (Klaviyo)

We use Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc., USA) to send emails. If you subscribe, or if marketing emails are otherwise permitted, Klaviyo processes your contact details, subscription status, order information and how you interact with our emails. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email or by writing to us.

8. Advertising on Facebook and Instagram (Meta Pixel and Conversions API)

We use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, and Meta Platforms, Inc., USA (together "Meta"). They help us measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram work and show our ads to people who may be interested in them.

The Meta Pixel uses cookies and similar technologies in your browser. It sends Meta information about your visit, such as the pages and products you view, items added to the cart, purchases, your IP address and browser and device details. The Conversions API sends similar events directly from our shop to Meta. These events may include contact details such as your email address or phone number in hashed (encrypted) form, so that Meta can match them to a Facebook or Instagram account.

Meta may process this data in the USA and other countries and uses it under its own responsibility, for example to improve its advertising services. Meta's privacy policy is available at facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can refuse or withdraw your consent to marketing cookies in the cookie settings of our shop where they are offered, block cookies in your browser, and manage your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

9. Other apps and service providers

We use Shopify apps that help us run the shop: Shopify Messaging, Translate & Adapt (translations), Shopify Flow (automations), Search & Discovery and Findter Filter & Search (search and filters), Section Store, Swatch King and Rubik Combined Listings (shop layout and product variants), and EB Easy Bundle Builder (bundle offers). These apps only receive the data they need for their function.

10. Cookies

Shopify and the services above use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the shop to work, for example for the cart, checkout, language choice and security. Others are used for statistics and advertising, such as the Meta Pixel described in section 8. You can manage cookies in your browser and, where offered, in our cookie settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the shop from working.

11. Recipients

We only share personal data where needed for the purposes described here: with Shopify and our apps, payment providers, Swiss Post, Klaviyo, Meta, professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

12. Transfers abroad

Some providers, including Shopify, Klaviyo and Meta, process data outside Switzerland, in particular in the EU and the USA. Where a country does not offer adequate data protection, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses approved by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

13. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal retention periods, for example 10 years for accounting records. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. We keep a minimal record of the unsubscription so we can respect it.

14. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No online system can be completely secure.

15. Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law you can ask for access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to certain processing, and receive your data in a common format where applicable. To do so, write to info@minixswitzerland.com. We may need to confirm your identity. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
